Crescenta Valley Chamber:

The Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Foothill Clean Up will take place on Oct. 27, National Make A Difference Day. Thanks to the many community volunteers and the assistance we have received in the last several years from the Committee for a Clean Glendale, this annual clean day really does make a difference. For students, this is a way to receive community service hours and improve your neighborhood.

Volunteers meet at Dunsmore Park, 4700 Dunsmore Ave. at 9 a.m., 8:30 if you would like the complimentary breakfast served by the chamber.

Groups will be sent to pre-determined messy/weedy areas, all supplies are furnished except gloves and those sturdy shoes you will want to wear. When finished, around noon, you’re invited back to the park for pizza, furnished by the Glendale Clean Committee. To sign up, call (818) 248-4957.

Start this morning with a hearty buffet breakfast which will be served at 7 a.m. RSVP to the chamber office. Cost is $15.

Halloween is not just for kids or adults. Your four-legged pets might just want to get into the action. Lots of Pets Superstore, 6540 Foothill Blvd., Tujunga, will be holding their annual Pet Costume Halloween contest on Oct. 27. Registration is at noon. Prizes will be awarded.

Glendale Police Department’s Open House will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 27 at 131 N. Isabel St., Glendale. There will be entertainment, free hot dogs, fingerprinting and more.

Reminder: The Chamber’s Annual Recognition Banquet will take place on Thursday, Nov. 15 at La Cañada Flintridge Country Club. We hope you will join us.
