Longtime local doctor retires

After caring for ear, nose and throat patients, sometimes for three generations, Dr. Gordon Breitman announced his retirement from his practice Monday.

Breitman opened his office in La Cañada Flintridge in 1966 with privileges at Verdugo Hills Hospital, Glendale Adventist Medical Center and Glendale Memorial Hospital.

Breitman has been president of the La Cañada Kiwanis and Friends of the La Cañada Library.

Local man assumes leadership role

Rick Dinger, president of Crescenta Valley Insurance, has been installed as president-elect of Insurance Brokers and Agents of the West, a leading producer association for insurance brokers and agents in California and the Northwest.

The association represents more than 950 firms in California, Washington and Oregon and more than 40,000 insurance professionals.

It has more than 100 associate members, who provide products and services for IBA West members to use and sell.
