A Noise Within is offering preview performances of William Shakespeare’s “Henry IV, Part 1” at the theater, 234 S. Brand Blvd., Glendale. Preview tickets are $28. The play opens March 8. But the rumblings of rebellion and civil war shatter childish games and in the process transform the boy prince into King Henry V.

The Glendale Community College Theater Arts, Dance and Music Department presents the classical musical “Fiddler on the Roof” at 8 p.m. at 1500 N. Verdugo Road, Glendale. Tickets are $15, $12 for students and seniors and $8 for groups of 10 or more and children under 12. The show will continue on March 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15. Matinees are at 2 p.m. on March 9 and 16. William Shakespeare’s “Richard III,” directed by A. Jeffrey Schoenberg, and produced by Shakespeare at Play, opens a special engagement with a reception at 7 p.m. and performance at 8 p.m. today, at The Colony Theatre, 555 N. Third St., Burbank. Without conscience, Richard, the bard’s most ruthless villain, launches his systematic bloody climb to the throne until someone comes forward to rescue England from this “bloody boar.” Tickets for opening night are $35. Performances continue 8 p.m. Wednesday and March 20 and 21. Tickets are $20 with discounts available for students, seniors and groups. Call (818) 566-1925.
