SOFTBALL

Crescenta Valley 6, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 0: On Tuesday, Ashleigh Viers-Gordillo went four for four at the plate and drove in four runs to lead the Falcons (3-0) to a victory over the Tologs (2-2) in the final pool-play game of the Duarte Tournament at Duarte High.

Kali Cancelosi pitched four no-hit innings to pick up the win. Baillie Kirker, Lainey DePompa, Caitlyn Cox and Alyssa Sovereign all tallied two hits for the Falcons. Crescenta Valley will return to tournament action on Friday at Duarte High against an opponent to be determined.

In a pool-play contest game Monday, Crescenta Valley posted a 10-3 win against Whittier. Viers-Gordillo and Kirker each had multiple-hit games. Viers-Gordillo had two hits, including a home run, and finished with four RBI. Kirker hit her second and third home runs of the season. She had three hits and drove in four.

Immaculate Heart 12, Holy Family 1: The Gaels fell in their season-opener on Tuesday in a nonleague road contest. Stephanie Ramirez drove in Adriana Quintero for Holy Family’s lone run of the day.

BOYS’ GOLF

Cathedral 203, Flintridge Prep 224, Azusa 278: Senior Hasan Doxey shared low-medalist honors Tuesday for the Rebels (1-1) in a nonleague tri-match at Altadena Golf Course.

Doxey, the reigning Prep League champion, carded a three-over-par 38 to share the honors with Amar Vanmali of Cathedral. Patrick Hilson fired a 44 for the Rebels.

St. Francis 195, La Cañada 208: Chris Campbell fired a 37 and Adrian Guy carded a 38 on Tuesday to lead the Golden Knights (1-1) to a victory on the par-34 La Cañada Country Club.

COLLEGE SOFTBALL

Glendale Community College 5, Moorpark College 0: The Vaqueros (12-4, 6-1) took a 1-0 lead into the seventh inning Tuesday before big hits from Debbie Martin, Melissa Legaspi and Krista Smith helped tack on some important insurance runs in the Western State Conference interdivisional game.

Kelly Korras threw seven shutout innings to pick up the victory and keep her earned-run average hovering around the 0.70 mark. The Vaqueros begin divisional play at 2:30 p.m. Thursday against host Citrus College.

BASEBALL

St. Francis 10, Duarte 3: Senior Nick Petito’s three-run home run in the fourth inning busted the game wide open for St. Francis, as the Golden Knights (3-0) finished out pool play in the Arcadia Elks Tournament at Duarte High on Tuesday.

Sophomore A.J. Berglund tossed four strong innings, surrendering just three hits while mowing down six to pick up the victory.

St. Francis, which has now scored 43 runs in its first three games, swept its three pool-play games to advance to Thursday’s tournament semifinals. The site and opponent for the semifinal game has yet to be determined.

Diamond Ranch 2, Crescenta Valley 1: Freshman starting pitcher Kyle Pomeroy yielded just two hits for the Falcons in a pool-play game of the Glendora Tournament on Tuesday.

Matt Ashby scored the lone run for the Falcons (0-2) in the fourth inning to cut the lead in half. Crescenta Valley will next face Bonita in another tournament pool-play game at 7 p.m. Thursday.

GIRLS’ SWIMMING

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 92, Marymount 77: The Tologs improved to 2-0 on the young season on Tuesday with a nonleague victory over the Sailors. Madeline Talt picked up wins in the 200 freestyle (2:03.95) and the 200 individual medley (2:20.2). Alex Marquez added victories in the 50 freestyle (25.90) and 100 freestyle (58.09) for Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy.

BOYS’ TENNIS

Crescenta Valley 18, Pasadena 0: The Falcons (2-1, 1-1) picked up their first Pacific League victory of the season on Tuesday by sweeping all 18 sets against visiting Pasadena. Singles players Chris Lee, In Seok Seo and Kenny Kim all picked up two victories before being subbed out.

West Ranch 12, Hoover 6: The host Tornadoes (1-4) fell in a nonleague match Tuesday.

Hoover received a sweep in singles from Sean Guerin, and got two wins in doubles from Phillip Oh and Arthur Zohrabians.

MEN’S TENNIS

Glendale Community College 9, Allan Hancock College 0: The visiting Vaqueros won their third straight match Tuesday in a Western State Conference Southern Division contest.

Glendale college (4-3, 3-0 in the division) received singles wins from Emanuel Haug, Matthew Taoatao, Greg Arutyunyan, Marko Gortinski, Mike Patatanyan and Glenn Tolentino. Haug teamed with Tolentino to win a doubles set for the Vaqueros, who also got wins in doubles from Arutyunyan and Taoatao and Matt Chiriboga and Gortinski.
