‘Musical Voyage’ concert in district

This year’s Elementary Honors Instrumental Music Festival for the Glendale Unified School District will be held at 7 tonight.

Close to 200 musicians from the school district’s 20 elementary schools will play in a concert called “Musical Voyage.”

The concert will take place in the auditorium of Glendale High School, at 1440 E. Broadway, in Glendale.

Admission is free.

Parks department offers spring camp

The Glendale Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department is offering a spring day camp for youngsters, ages 6 to 15, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 14 to April 18 at Verdugo Park, 1621 Cañada Blvd.

Extended care hours are available. Fees start at $95 per camper for the one-week session. Activities include arts and crafts, sports, games and a field trip. Campers must provide their own lunch, snacks and beverages.

IHOP Corp. launches contest for pancakes

As part of a yearlong 50th birthday celebration, the restaurant chain IHOP Corp. is collecting stories of the heartwarming, unexpected and even wacky events that have happened to customers at IHOP.

The winner of the “It Happens at IHOP” contest will get a grand prize of free pancakes for 20 years.

Complete “It Happens at IHOP” contest rules can be found at www.ihop.com. Entries must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. May 31. One grand prize winner will receive free pancakes for life — defined as a one free short stack of buttermilk pancakes per week for 20 years and a trip to New York with one guest for the celebration of IHOP’s 50th on July 7. Five runners-up will receive $100 IHOP gift cards.
