PHOTO OF THE WEEK ‘SPEAKING OF THE WEATHER’

One type of photo we often look for are weather photos. Rainy days, we’re looking for umbrellas, splashes or clouds. Hot weather can be a little harder because people are trying to stay out of the heat, not go out into it. Makes sense, but it also makes it hard to find a good photo.
On this particular day, I had just gotten done hiking up to the Brand family cemetery and was starting to drive back to the office. I saw this boy riding his bike through the sprinklers and just had to stop. You don’t get opportunities like this very often.
I didn’t really have much time to get my shot. I grabbed my camera body with a 70-200mm lens on it, threw 1.4X teleconverter on it to give myself a little more reach and started shooting. He was nicely back-lit, which made the water from the sprinklers pop a little more. I couldn’t ask for more.
