Little League sign-ups

The Crescenta Valley Little League will hold sign-ups for the upcoming fall season from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 14 at Montrose Park.

The fall baseball and softball seasons are open to boys and girls 7-15 years. There are no league boundaries in the fall season and all participants are welcome.

Assistant water polo coach needed

The Hoover High water polo team is currently seeking an assistant coach for the upcoming seasons.

Junior golf tourney in Burbank

Junior golfers will get the opportunity to take part in a local qualifying tournament June 23 at De Bell Municipal Golf Course in Burbank.

The cost to compete in the 40th annual Trusted Choice Big “I” Junior Golf Classic is $30.

The Championship Division is open to boys and girls 18 and under. No previous tournament experience is needed.

Golfers will begin teeing off at noon after receiving specific starting times. Athletes will play 18 holes of stroke play from scratch.

Low qualifiers will earn a spot in the California State Finals to be held July 7-8 at De Laveaga Golf Course in Santa Cruz.

A field of 120 golfers (90 boys and 30 girls) from local qualifying tournaments will get the chance to play in the state event.

The cost of the state tournament is $125.

In addition, state qualifiers have the opportunity to advance to the national tournament Aug. 2-7 at the Country Club of North Carolina at Pinecrest.

Glendale High Golf Tournament

The Glendale High Golf Tournament will be held at 1 p.m. July 18 at Pacific Palms Resort, One Industry Hills Parkway, City of Industry. Check in will be at 11:30 a.m.

The cost is $175 per person or $700 per foursome. The price includes range balls, lunch, buffet dinner, prizes and more.

Basketball camp set to take place

Crescenta Valley High boys’ basketball Coach Shawn Zargarian will conduct a basketball camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 21-25 at Crescenta Valley High’s gymnasium, 2900 Community Ave., La Crescenta.

The camp is geared for athletes 7-13.

The cost is $235 per person. Instruction, games, prizes, awards and more will be featured.
