James Ealy

James Lee Ealy, 63, was born May 7, 1944 in Canton, Ohio and passed away May 6 in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho.

James grew up in La Crescenta and after high school joined the U.S. Army, serving as paratrooper in the Vietnam War.

After his discharge from the service, James was a Los Angeles fireman for ten years and was in the first class of paramedics. Due to an injury, he retired from the fire department and went on to work in the movie industry as set medic. In that capacity he enjoyed traveling and new adventures for 25 years.

In 2000, James retired in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, where he loved to fish, camp, water ski and hang out with his buddies.

Jim is survived by his three children: son James and daughters Jana and Joy. He also leaves grandchildren Kyla, James and Jessie Irene; brother John; sisters Marcia, Patricia, Sherry, Lynn and Lois, as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. June 21 at 23729 Baltar St. in West Hills, Calif.
