High-speed crash hospitalizes two

GLENDALE — Two people were taken to a hospital Monday night after a vehicle crashed into two cars at Hillside Drive, causing the struck cars to hit two parked cars, police officials said.

Two people, whose names were not released, complained of pain and were taken to a hospital, Glendale Police Officer John Balian said. Another person also complained of pain but did not go to a hospital, he said.

The crash occurred at 5:50 p.m. after a motorist — whose name, age and place of residence were not released by the police — was speeding south on Verdugo Road and lost control of his vehicle, Balian said.

“He was going very fast,” he said.

Verdugo Road was shut down for an hour as crews cleaned up, Balian said.

The motorist wasn’t arrested at the scene, but he may be cited after traffic officers complete their investigation, Balian said.
