The Associates of Brand Library will present a special exhibition at Brand Library Art Galleries through July 25 at 1601 W. Mountain St., Glendale. The art work is a retrospective exhibition featuring approximately 60 pieces by artists who have received the Purchase Award, an award bestowed to one or more works at the annual juried exhibition. Hours are from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. A closing reception is from 5 to 8 p.m. July 25. Chevy Chase Country Club and The Artists of the Canyon will present “Cool, Clear, Water,” at the Chevy Chase Country Club, 3067 E. Chevy Chase Drive, Glendale. The exhibit features works in a variety of mediums by artists such as Lynne Fearman, Paul Chamberlain and Dahl Delu. Glendale Parks, Recreation & Community Services offers the ABC’s of a Safe Summer Splish-Splash Family Fun Day from noon to 4 p.m. at both pools at Hoover High School, 651 Glenwood Road, Glendale, and Glendale High School, 1440 E. Broadway, Glendale. The event is co-sponsored by ABC7 and the American Red Cross. Those attending the pool safety session from noon to 1 p.m. will receive free entry to recreational swim and a surprise gift.
