Oceanview restaurant offers treasure trove of flavor

Share

Oceanview Contemporary Bistro, formerly Oceanview Bar and Grill, is celebrating a new name and new ownership. Oceanview Contemporary Bistro is located at 3826 OceanView Boulevard, in Historic Old Town Montrose (corner of Ocean View and Florencita).

Executive chef Craig Russell has worked overtime creating a variety of dishes that promise to please even the most discerning palate. The summer menu includes a seafood salad with tender shrimp and calamari nestled among young fingerling potatoes, finished with Chef’s own herb citrus dressing. There’s also a caprese salad that is showcased by Burrata mozzarella cradling heirloom tomatoes.

The sensibly priced menu offers selections of chicken, meats and fresh fish such as mahi mahi and striped bass, delivered daily from Fish King. Summer diners on the sidewalk patio are surrounded by the fresh flower and herb garden. Try the special house-made Sangria served patio-side as well.

Oceanview offers a full bar and a private dining room for seating up to 35.

Executive Chef Craig Russell, son of Tom and Alyce Russell, owners of Andersen’s Pet Store, graduated from the prestigious New York Culinary Institute, trained in the Northern Italian City of Tuscana, Brennan’s in New Orleans and most recently as executive chef at Boa in West Hollywood, brings his diverse experiences to Historic Old Town Montrose.

Oceanview is open for brunch on Sundays and for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday. Closed on Monday. Reservations are recommended; call (818) 248-2722.
