The Glendale Community College Planetarium presents a new performance of John “J. Walt” Adamczyk’s live animation presentation “Spontaneous Fantasia” at 6:30 p.m. Adamczyk is an interactive designer, filmmaker, graphic artist and composer. Adamczyk creates a real-time animation world in front of the audience. Part of the proceeds supports GCC’s free K-12 science outreach program. Admission is $15, $6 for children 12 and younger. Summer Music Series featuring principal players of the Glendale Symphony Orchestra and the Town Singers at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 209 N. Louise St., Glendale. The program is titled “Brass and Voices.” The Brass program includes Bach’s “My Spirit Be Joyful,” “As Time Goes By,” “Mancini Medley and “Washington Post March.” The choir selections include “I’m Beginning to See the Light,” “West Side Story Medley” and “My Funny Valentine.” Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online by visiting www.glendalesymphony.org. The Dean Mora Modern Swingtet will perform outdoors at 7 p.m. in the upper courtyard of Salem Lutheran Church, 1211 N. Brand Blvd., Glendale. They will be performing the original arrangements made famous by groups such as Tommy Dorsey’s Clambake Seven, Artie Shaw’s Gramercy 5, the Ellingtonians and the John Kirby Orchestra.
