TEEN EARNS EAGLE SCOUT AFTER UPDATING SCHOOL

Christopher Noel Rincon, 15, recently celebrated his Eagle Scout Court of Honor at St. James the Less Catholic School as he was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Boy Scouts organization.

He is a member of the Verdugo Hills Council, Boy Scouts of America. To receive the rank of Eagle, boys must complete all requirements before reaching the age of 18.

Christopher is a 2007 graduate of St. James The Less Catholic School and just completed his first year at St. Francis High School in La Cañada Flintridge. He is the son of Marta and Noel Rincon.

He received his Arrow of Light, Cub Scouts’ highest achievement, from Pack 314 prior to bridging to Boy Scouts. He joined Troop 288 in April 2004. As a Boy Scout, he has earned 22 merit badges and has served as Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader and Instructor.

As Christopher was getting ready to graduate from St. James The Less Catholic School in 2007, he knew he wanted to do something there for his Eagle Project and that he would have to find a way to provide the funds. In August of 2007, after two fundraisers at local restaurants, Christopher was able to move forward with his project. Christopher repainted the yellow stripping on all the steps around the school, fixed the steps and handrail by the computer lab and put the Sacred Heart statute on a stand.
