WEDDING

STONE — WEDEL

Sarah Elisa Stone of La Crescenta and Collin P. Wedel of Tucson, Ariz., were married at Mandalay Palms Estate in Malibu.

They recited their personally written vows against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean.

Dr. Greg Lavine officiated.

A special moment during the ceremony was when the bride’s great-aunt, Elsie Anderson of Glendale, sang the “Lord’s Prayer,” as she had the day of the bride’s parents’ wedding 25 years earlier.

The maid of honor was Anna Freudenberg. Bridesmaids were Alexis Padis, Amanda Leahy, Lauren McCord and Alissa Smith.

The best man was Max Wedel. Ushers were Travis North, Cameron North, Eric Wedel and Rob Stone.

The bride is the daughter of Nancy and Gene “Chip” Stone of La Crescenta. She received her bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Pepperdine University, where she was a member of Delta Gamma. She is employed as a third-grade teacher at Covington Elementary School.

The groom is the son of Susan and Dr. F.P. “Rick” Wedel of Tucson.

He received his bachelor’s degree in history from Pepperdine University, where he was a member of Sigma Chi. He is attending Stanford Law School.

The music of Rick Whitfield and his eight-piece band was enjoyed by friends, family and many students from Pepperdine University during the reception before the couple departed for their honeymoon to St. Lucia in the Caribbean.

The couple are living in Mountain View, Calif.
