Crescenta Valley Chamber:

“The future is not some place we are going, but one we are creating. The paths are not to be found, but made. And the activity of making them changes both the maker and their destination.”

— John Schaar

?

Are you making your path? How is that path you are creating? How about taking a path to help your community?

Tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 25, is the 2008 Foothills Community Clean-Up Day from 9 a.m. to noon. This is Glendale’s official “Make A Difference Day” project and provides the opportunity for students, families, service organizations, businesses and you to make a difference on Foothill Boulevard by sprucing up the place. Wear sturdy shoes, bring some work gloves and meet at Dunsmore Park at 9 a.m. tomorrow for a free breakfast. Then the organizers will put you with a group to make a difference by sprucing up the Crescenta Valley. For more information, call Neighborhood Services at (818) 548-2877 or visit www.cleanupglendale.org. This is such a great path to take with the destination of a better community.

Another easy path you can take to give back to your community is the path to Leo’s All-Star Sports Bar and Grill from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29. Leo’s will have the one and only Ken Biermann as their VIP bartender as he raises money for the Crescenta Valley Chamber of Commerce. The funds raised will be given back to the community in the form of CVHS scholarships and donations to worthy causes such as Prom Plus and the Sheriff’s support group. Come and “tip” Ken, support your community and relax at a great bar and grill for the evening. If you have never been to Leo’s All Star Bar and Grill, this is the night to check out this fantastic place with friendly employees and great food and beverages. Cheers to this enjoyable path!

And please mark your calendars to journey down the path of great food at the CV Chamber’s “Taste in the Foothills” from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday evening, Nov. 12. We already have over 12 fine restaurants signed up to serve up tastes of their wonderful cuisine, with many more to join. What a great way to spend an evening sampling food from all over the Crescenta Valley. Restaurants signed up so far include Baja Fresh Mexican Grill, Damon’s Steakhouse, Dream Dinners, Frank’s Famous Kitchen, Leo’s All Star Bar and Grill, Ocean View Bar & Grill, Ralphs Deli, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Starbucks, Togo’s and Wow Bento Sushi, with more to come. This is a yummy path you can take to help the Crescenta Valley.

I hope the path you are creating for your future is filled with yummy food, good beverages, good times and wonderful friendships. Stop by the Chamber office and we can help steer you onto this path.
