Drive-thru flu shots tomorrow

Glendale Memorial Hospital and Health Center is offering free flu shots to people 60 and older at their annual Drive-Thru Flu Clinic tomorrow, Nov. 8, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. while supplies last.

The event will be held in the Glendale Memorial parking structure on Laurel Avenue across from the main entrance of the hospital (1420 S. Central Ave.). No reservations are necessary. People can get their flu shot without leaving their vehicle, as Glendale Memorial medical professionals provide car-side service.

Veterans Day service planned

The VFW Post 1614 and American Legion Post 288 are holding a Veterans Day sunrise to sunset vigil on Nov. 11 at Two Strike Park at 5107 Rosemont Ave. in La Crescenta.

A brief service will take place at 3 p.m. which will include a flag burning ceremony to retire old and tattered American flags.

All are welcome to attend.

Autumn tea hosted by YMCA

The Crescenta-Cañada YMCA is holding an Autumn tea from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14.

Guests will feast on tea and a delectable lunch of tea sandwiches, quiche, scones, fruit and sweets. Enjoy the season while conversing with your friends and listening to live entertainment.

The cost is $10 with reservations or $12 at the door. Reservations are suggested and can be made by calling the Y at (818) 790-0123.
