The Friends of the Glendale Public Library and Library Children’s Services will have a giant book sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the loading dock behind the library, 222 E. Harvard St., Glendale. Books will be priced at 50 cents for paperbacks and $1 for hardcover. A limited inventory of “retro” furniture will be available. Sales are final. The Walgreens Take Care Health Tour will be giving free health screenings from noon to 6 p.m. at the Montrose Christmas Parade on Honolulu Avenue between Verdugo Road and Rosemont Avenue, Montrose. Six free health screenings will be offered — bone density, cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, waist circumference and body mass analysis.
