GIRLS’ SOCCER

Saugus 3, Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy 1: Lauren Torres scored a first-half goal assisted by Jill Jacobs to help Sacred Heart take a 1-1 tie into the second half on Saturday morning, but the Centurions (2-1-1) rallied for two unanswered goals in the final 40 minutes in a Westlake Showcase match at Westlake High.

Saugus, currently ranked 10th in CIF Southern Section Division II, outshot the Tologs (1-1), 13-6, in the nonleague affair.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Flintridge Prep 2, Oakwood 2: The host Rebels (0-0-2) got one goal apiece from Steve Morse and David Russell in the first 10 minutes of their nonleague match on Saturday.

However, the Rebels surrendered two goals in the final 10 minutes.

Cary Cousineau and Chris Davis had one assist apiece for Flintridge Prep, which got six saves from goalkeeper Fuad Beshir.

Flintridge Prep will next compete in another nonleague home game at 3:15 p.m. Thursday against Sherman Oaks Notre Dame at the Glendale Sports Complex.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Crescenta Valley 14, Glendora 2: Olivia Trimis finished with five goals and Kim Fraisse added four on Saturday to lift the Falcons (3-2) in the 11th-place match of the Los Altos Tournament.

In an earlier tournament match Saturday, Fraisse had five goals and Corinne Ingalla had three in a 14-11 loss to Walnut. Taylor Kuh registered two goals for the Falcons.

Crescenta Valley picked up a 10-5 win against Fullerton on Friday. Trimis and Fraisse notched four goals apiece and Ingalla added a pair.

On Thursday, Fraisse had three goals an Kuh collected two in an 8-5 loss to Alemany.

The Falcons will next take part in a nonleague home game at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday against Louisville before beginning Pacific League competition at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday against visiting Hoover.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Flintridge Prep wins by forfeit: The Rebels (3-2) finished ninth in the San Gabriel Valley Classic after picking up a forfeit win over Marshall Fundamental on Saturday morning at San Marino High.

Flintridge Prep is back in action on Thursday, when the Rebels open play in the Pasadena Poly Tournament with a 7:30 p.m. game against La Salle.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Glendale Community College 85, L.A. Pierce College 79: Markus Monroe had a team-high 32 points and 10 rebounds to spark the visiting Vaqueros in a nonconference game Nov. 26.

Peter Newell added 17 points for the Vaqueros (3-2), while Josh Guillory added 12 points and five assists.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Chaffey College 67, Glendale Community College 47: The Vaqueros suffered a nonconference loss Nov. 29 after it picked up a 55-37 victory against Allan Hancock College on Nov. 25.

Hoover High graduate Rachel Estrella led the Vaqueros with 18 points and six assists.

Amanda Quesada contributed 17 points and nine rebounds for Glendale college, which got 10 points and eight rebounds from Paola Gupilan.
