ALL-AREA GIRLS' TEAM

Andrea Kropp,

junior,

Flintridge Sacred Heart

Standout swimmer tried out cross-country for the first time and led Tologs to a fifth-place finish in CIF-State Division IV, the program's best mark ever. She earned All-State Division IV honors with her 10th-place finish in 18:52. Took second at the Mission League finals.

?

Anneke Kakebeen,

soph., Crescenta Valley

Turned in a stellar fifth-place finish in the Pacific League finals to earn all-league first-team honors. Was the No. 3 or 4 runner for the Falcons the majority of the season, turning in an impressive time of 18:56 at the Mt. SAC Invitational.

?

Carlotta Pham,

senior, Crescenta Valley

Challenged teammate Michelle Callister for much of the year as the Falcons' — and area's — top runner. The always-grinning Pham finished fourth at the Pacific League finals and was also the top area girls' runner at the Mt. SAC Invitational, finishing in 18:09. Finished in 18:18 at Southern Section finals and 18:40 at state meet.

?

Claudia Pham,

soph., Crescenta Valley

Became a force down the stretch for the Falcons, turning into the team's No. 3 runner and impressing as the season went on. Finished sixth at the Pacific League finals before taking 28th at the CIF finals in 18:36 and 42nd at state in 18:53.

?

Megan Doeding,

senior, Crescenta Valley

Was a constant in the Pacific League titlist's top five, racing to a seventh-place finish at the league finals at Arcadia Park. Was the No. 4 and 5 finisher in 18:54 and 19:20, respectively, at the CIF Southern Section Division I and CIF-State finals.

Coach of the Year

Mark Evans,

Crescenta Valley

With the losses of Claire Collison and Rachel Lange, two of the greatest girls' cross-country runners in area history, the Falcons were counted out by many. But Evans navigated his squad to a fourth straight CIF-State Division I appearance, where the Falcons took sixth. It came after the Falcons had previously finished third in CIF Southern Section Division I, won their sixth straight Pacific League title and held tight to a top-five spot in the division rankings throughout.
