Dad’s Club to serve pancakes

Verdugo Woodlands Elementary School will have an All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Dad’s Club, 1728 Cañada Blvd., Glendale, between the fire house and Babe Herman Baseball Field.

There is a $5 donation. Proceeds go to maintenance costs of the Dad’s Club Community Building. Call (818) 246-2122.

? Club to celebrate Korean new year

The Korean Parents’ Club at Valley View Elementary School will present an assembly to celebrate the Korean new year and Korean culture on Friday.

The day of activities for students and staff will begin with an outdoor assembly at 8:30 a.m. and will continue with in-class activities and cultural snacks.

? Symposium to help seniors

“Moving Forward, New Beginnings,” an information symposium targeted to seniors and their adult children, will take place from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Windsor Manor, 1230 E. Windsor Road.

Those at the event can question a panel of local professionals with expertise in law, lending, banking, real estate, long-term care insurance, estate planning, wills and trusts, identity theft and elder abuse.

? Police advisory council meets

The Glendale Police Advisory Council meeting will be at 6 tonight at the City Council chambers in City Hall, at 613 E. Broadway.

Residents can voice concerns about safety or quality of life issues to a panel of people who represent various community organizations.
