Knights earn fourth-straight

St. Francis High boys’ soccer has been rolling through the Mission league as usual, this time defeating Alemany, 6-1.

It’s the Golden Knights’ fourth straight win against league opponents, and seventh of their last nine.

In the four-game winning streak, they’ve outscored their opponents 15-1.

St. Francis remains second in Mission league play, behind Loyola (12-3-5, 4-0-2), whom the Golden Knights lost to on Jan. 16, at Loyola, 3-1. The two teams will have a rematch today at 5 p.m. at St. Francis.

Soccer Club holding tryouts

Crescenta Valley Soccer Club is holding open tryouts for next year’s boys under 11 and under 10 teams. Boys interested in a year-round club soccer team are welcome to attend practices. Practices are held on Tuesdays at Glendale High School from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and on Thursdays at Crescenta Valley High School from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Applicants must be born on or after August 1, 1998. Falcons basketball holding youth night

The Crescenta Valley High School boys basketball program will hold its annual Youth Night at 7 p.m. tonight, Feb. 6 at the high school in La Crescenta. Crescenta Valley Falcons will take on the Burroughs Indians in a varsity game at the CVHS main gym on Ramsdell Avenue.

All youths younger than high school will be admitted free. One paid adult to accompany up to five free youths. There will be contests and prizes. The first 100 youths will receive a Falcon basketball wristband. All are invited to come out and support the team.
