CLUB DONATES TREE TO PEDIATRIC WARD

The La Crescenta Woman’s Club donated a Christmas tree decorated in pink and blue to the pediatric unit of the City of Hope in December. The ornaments included several soft Mr. Potato Head toys and large stuffed animals were placed under the tree.

Patricia Junker, local volunteer at large, delivered the gift to the hospital on the evening of the Annual Pajama Party given for the children by Ileana Geestman, founder of the Desi Geestman Foundation. Tracy Frey, proprietor of Frank’s Kitchen and Bakery, catered the party.

SHOWCASE HOUSE NAMES BENEFIT CHAIRWOMAN

Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts has named longtime member Marti Cross Farley, of Pasadena, as its benefit chairwoman for 2008-09.

She has been a member of the organization for 12 years and has served on board for six years. She has held key positions on its benefit committee over the years.

As benefit chairwoman, Farley has selected the 2009 Pasadena Showcase House of Design and will oversee the design conversion of 45th Showcase House.

Funds raised goes to the Gifts and Grants Program and the three music programs it supports — the Pasadena Showcase House Music Mobile program, the Pasadena Showcase House Youth Concert and the Pasadena Showcase House Instrumental Competition.

The Pasadena Showcase House of Design will be open from April 17 through May 19.
