Rain forces events to be rescheduled

Rain on Friday caused the postponement of a pair of local sporting events, as two high school soccer matches had to be rescheduled.

Crescenta Valley and Burroughs will meet in a key Pacific League boys’ soccer match at 10 a.m. today at Crescenta Valley.

The match was originally slated for 4:45 p.m. Friday at Burroughs, but Burroughs administrators reported the field to be unsafe.

The Falcons are tied for first in league, while the Indians are tied for third.

A Prep League girls’ match between Flintridge Prep and Westridge at the Glendale Sports Complex was also called off Friday because of the weather.

The match will now take place at 3:15 p.m. Friday at the same venue.

Local baseball clinic set to be held

A baseball clinic and a coaches clinic will held Feb. 21 at Stengel Field.

The baseball clinic is geared for players ages 7-12 and will run from 8:30 to 10 a.m.

The clinic will be spearheaded by the Crescenta Valley High baseball coaches.

The annual Blue-White baseball game will occur at 10. Both clinics are free of charge.
