GIRLS’ SOCCER

Hoover 3, Glendale 3: Samantha Aguirre scored on a free kick with about two minutes left to help the visiting Tornadoes close out their season with a tie in Thursday’s Pacific League finale for both teams.

Monique Quezada scored a pair of goals for Hoover (2-11-1 in league).

“It was an exciting game, and we tried our best the whole season,” Hoover Coach David Rojas said. “I’m happy with the way we progressed, but we still have a lot to work on.”

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Crescenta Valley 71, Arcadia 56: Coltrane Powdrill scored 28 points to lead the Falcons to a home win on Thursday that enabled a second-place finish in the Pacific League, after winning a tie-breaking coin flip earlier in the day. Narbeh Ebrahamian scored 12 points for the Falcons (16-10, 9-5) and Brandt Bowers added nine.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Crescenta Valley 49, Arcadia 36: Cassie Pappas led the Falcons (19-8, 11-3) with 26 points and 10 rebounds in a Pacific League home win on Thursday. Melanie Minas added 12 points for the Falcons, who finished second in league.

Flintridge Prep 55, Mayfield 29: Prep (14-11, 8-4) wrapped up a third-place finish in the Prep League on Thursday behind 17 points from Alina Khodadian and 16 points from Megan Musashi.
