GLENDALE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY MEETING PREVIEW

MERVYN’S SIGN

With the closure of Mervyn’s at the corner of Broadway and North Brand Boulevard, Glendale Galleria owners will seek permission today from the Redevelopment Agency to temporarily erect a wooden barrier and directional sign at the store’s former entrance.

The sign structure would serve the dual purpose of directing potential shoppers to other Galleria entrances, while blocking the entry alcove to the former Mervyn’s store to prevent loitering.

The structure would be removed once a new tenant takes over the space, according to a city report.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Given the temporary nature of the request, the agency will likely approve the request.
