Entries sought for fundraiser

Soroptimist International of Glendale is accepting submissions of decorated bras for the sixth annual Bras for a Cause fundraiser scheduled for 5:30 p.m. April 18 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Glendale.

Bras must be submitted by April 3 and all submitted bras will be displayed at the event.

Funds raised go toward charities that improve the lives of women and girls, including breast cancer services.

Baby-sitting classes offered

The Verdugo Hills Hospital Beginnings Family Education Program offers baby-sitting classes designed for boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 15.

The baby-sitting class is an interactive course that provides instruction on infant/child CPR, basic first aid, home/auto safety, accident prevention, telephone skills, safety tips, when to call 911, poison control, fire/earthquake plans and other child care advice.

Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a baby-sitting certificate.

The classes are from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 28, April 25, May 30 and June 27 at the hospital, 1812 Verdugo Blvd., Glendale, in the Council Room on the fourth floor.

Fee is $35 per person.
