Los Angeles County Fire responded last Friday morning to vehicle over the side of Angeles Crest Highway north of La Cañada Flintridge. The call for help was made at about 6:45 a.m., according to Capt. Robert Seals of L.A. County Fire station 82.

A 50-year-old man driving a Southern California Edison truck had crashed over the side of the ‘Crest near mile marker 30. His truck came to rest about 200 feet below the road.

“There were skid marks. It looked like the driver hit the berm and went over the side,” Seals said.

L.A. County Urban Search and Rescue team extracted the driver from the vehicle. Air Squad helicopter 12 transported the driver, who was reported to be experiencing breathing difficulties, to the trauma unit at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena.
