Scholarship applications due

The Crescenta Valley Town Council is offering scholarship opportunities to all graduating high school students from Crescenta Valley High School and graduating high school students who reside in the unincorporated parts of La Crescenta and Montrose that attend either Clark Magnet High School, Daily High School or an accredited home school program. Four $500 scholarships will be awarded to students who meet the criteria as outlined on the website www.crescentavalleytowncouncil.org.

Applications are available online or in the counseling office at Crescenta Valley High School. All applications must be received in the CVHS counseling office or postmarked no later than March 28 to CVTC, P.O. Box 8676, La Crescenta, CA 91224-0676.

Woman’s Club offering scholarships

The La Crescenta Woman’s Club is offering two $500 scholarships to graduating Crescenta Valley High School seniors. Applicants need a minimum of a 2.0 grade point average and plan to attend an institution of higher learning, either a trade school, college or university.

Applications are available in the Counseling Office at the high school. Deadline for applications is April 1.

Apply now for Youth Volunteer Award

Applications are now available for Congressman David Dreier’s annual Youth Volunteer Award. The award is open to all high school students between the ages of 14 and 18 residing in this Congressional district. Award winners will be honored at a ceremony later this spring.

Applications are available online at dreier.house.gov/youth, or can be picked up at Dreier’s district office. Those interested in applying must complete an application documenting their volunteer service; write a 250-500 word essay describing the benefits of his/her service to the community; submit one letter of reference; and, have an informal interview with the Award Council.

Completed applications must be submitted to Dreier’s district office, which can be reached by calling (909) 575-6226 or (888) 906-2626.

The deadline for completed applications is 5 p.m. on Friday, April 3.
