Former residents attend reunion

The Glendale Historical Society is hosting a reunion luncheon for 18 members of the Dzaich and Kordich families at the Doctors’ House on Sunday afternoon. Family members are flying in from various West Coast locations.

This celebration of two families who shared ownership of the house for 60 years before it became a house museum in Brand Park explores the period of Glendale from the 1920s to the 1980s.

Throughout the museum, family heirlooms, photographs and a family tree are on display, including the World War II uniform of the oldest Dzaich son killed during the war.

The two families that originated in Croatia are typical of so many immigrant families who have come to Glendale for a better life. They lived in the house during the days of the Depression and saw Glendale change from a small town into the metropolitan city it is today.

The museum is open from 2 to 4 p.m. every Sunday and is in Brand Park, 1601 W. Mountain St., Glendale.
