Foundation postpones deadlines

The Community Foundation of the Verdugos, formerly the Glendale Community Foundation, has postponed its April 1 and June 1 grant proposal deadline dates to Sept. 1.

The decision to revise the grant cycle dates was made as a move toward creating grants that will have more funding impact for Verdugo-area nonprofit organizations in 2009. The foundation, itself a nonprofit organization, has provided more than $3 million in grants to the community since 1956 due to the philanthropic generosity of donors.

Eligible nonprofits that meet the foundation’s guidelines or area residents interested in donor opportunities can call (818) 241-8040 or go to www.communityfoundationoftheverdugos.org.
