Wilfred ‘Bud’ Dandurand Jr.

Bud Dandurand, born on June 2, 1934 in Los Angeles, left this world peacefully on March 5, 2009, surrounded by his family, including his wife of 52 years, Joyce, who works for Dilbeck Realtors.

He leaves his five children, Lynn (Marty) Prescott of Granada Hills, Rosanne (Mike) Shannon of Huntington Beach, John (Margie) Dandurand of Moorpark, Gina (Jaime) Brockamp of Canyon Country and Lisa Herron of San Diego.

He also leaves his grandchildren, Jessica and Jennifer Shannon; Tyler and Maddi Dandurand; Stacey, Corey and Jerry Brockamp; and Samantha and Matthew Herron.

He was loved by his sisters, Elaine, Cathy and Mary; brothers, Al (deceased) and Joe and many nephews, nieces and relatives.

Bud went to St. Dominic’s grade school in Eagle Rock and graduated in 1952 from St. Francis High School in La Cañada. He joined the Navy for four years, and then worked in real estate and the grocery business.

He was owner of Oak’s Liquor in Sun Valley for 25 years, a Rotary president, a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Tujunga for 39 years and a Knights of Columbus Third Degree.

Bud had the ability to make anyone feel comfortable around him and people gravitated to him because of his warmth, great sense of humor and infectious laugh. His passion was golf and traveling. He and Joyce traveled in their motor home throughout the USA, but most of all he loved being with his family and friends. We thank God for blessing us with the gift of his life. In memory of him, donations can be made to The Covenant House in Hollywood.
