Church to host noon concerts

Glendale Noon Concerts will be from 12:10 to 12:40 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Glendale, 209 N. Louise St.

The Bright Light Chamber Players, Whitney Griss on violoncello and Rose LoGiudice on piano, will perform Brahms Sonata in D Major, Op. 78, for violoncello and piano. Admission is free. Light lunch created by Angela’s Bistro available for $6 after the concert.

Group to have awards luncheon

Glendale Beautiful will have its annual awards luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Joe Bridges Clubhouse, Glenoaks Park, 2531 E. Glenoaks Blvd. Lunch begins at noon.

Local businesses will be recognized and a special award will be given to the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department for the recently opened Cerritos Park. Lunch is $13 and will be catered by Damon’s Steakhouse. For more information and to make a reservation, call (818) 247-1638.

Inhumanity is the theme

The Man’s Inhumanity to Man all-day event occurs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Brand Library & Art Center, 1601 W. Mountain St.

The event will include a gallery walk-through with guest curator Ramela Abbamontian followed by a question-and-answer session with several of the artists.
