Seeking input on water ordinance

Glendale Water & Power officials on Monday will host the second of three community input meetings on a proposed water conservation ordinance that, during severe drought years, would ban certain water uses.

Those who violate the provisions, or go over their water allotments, would be charged high rates.

Glendale and other cities are under pressure to reduce their water usage ahead of pending cuts from the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, which plans to reduce allotments by 10% starting in July.

Cities that go over their allotments would be charged stiff penalties.

The community input meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the Sycamore Room, Pacific Community Center, 501 S. Pacific Ave. For more information, call (818) 548-3300.
