Interim police chief to speak

Glendale Assistant Police Chief Ron De Pompa is scheduled to appear live on Vrej Agajanian’s television show Thursday to discuss how he intends to guide the department as the city searches for a new chief.

De Pompa was tapped to take over as interim chief in July, when Chief Randy Adams will retire. Agajanian and De Pompa will also discuss the potential impacts of possible budget cuts to the Police Department and the process for finding a new chief.

De Pompa said he also had plans to retire soon, but agreed to lead the agency on an interim basis to provide continuity during what is expected to be a long and involved search for a permanent replacement.

The show airs live from 9 to 10 p.m. Thursday on Channel 284. The live call-in number is (818) 662-9222.
