Float association to host gourmet dinner
The Glendale Rose Float Assn. will host a fundraising dinner Saturday, with the proceeds helping to decorate the city of Glendale’s float in the 2010 Pasadena Rose Parade.
The “Princess Dinner†will be prepared by award-winning chef Jerry Salthouse and is a re-creation of a dinner Salthouse prepared for Princess Grace of Monaco in 1971.
The cost of the dinner is $125 per person. The dinner will be at the Glendale Elks Lodge and begins at 6 p.m.

Author to talk pioneer, Grizzlies
Nat Read, author of “Don Benito Wilson: From Mountain Man to Mayor,†will discuss the book and its story at 7 p.m. Monday at the Center for Spiritual Living in La Crescenta.
The book chronicles the story of Wilson’s journey as “pioneer, beaver trapper/ trader, grizzly bear hunter, Indian fighter, justice of the peace, farmer, rancher, politician, horticulturist, vintner, real estate entrepreneur, and one of the great land holders in Southern California.â€
The center, formerly known as the La Crescenta Church of Religious Science, is on the corner of Dunsmore Avenue and Santa Carlotta Street.
