The community learned that Johng Hahm, 53, of Montrose had fallen to his death in the Angeles National Forest while hiking near Strawberry Peak. It was surmised that an extreme drop in temperatures, coupled with low visibility conditions, might have left Hahm disoriented.

Bettie Dobson was honored as Woman of the Year by the Montrose-Verdugo City Chamber of Commerce during a luncheon held at the La Cañada Flintridge Country Club. Presenting her with an engraved silver plate commemorating the honor was the chamber’s president, Bill Phillips.
