Public water budget workshop planned

The board of directors of the Crescenta Valley Water District will be holding a public workshop as part of their regularly scheduled meeting to discuss the proposed budgets for water and wastewater operations. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, at the district office, 2700 Foothill Blvd.

Staff will present information on revenues, expenses and capital improvement projects related to water and wastewater operations for the fiscal year 2009-10 which begins on July 1. The public is invited to attend and provide comments for the board’s consideration.

Water, fire talks on CVTC agenda

The next meeting of the Crescenta Valley Town Council will take place on June 18 in the CVHS cafeteria beginning at 7 pm.

On the agenda will be discussion on a Crescenta Valley water conservation presentation by Judy Tejeda, CVWD director, and updates on local fire conditions and programs by L.A. County Fire representative Stephanie English and C.V. Fire Safe Council president Roger Young.

Donations sought for fireworks

The CV Fireworks Association is seeking donations in support of the 2009 annual fireworks show being held on July 4 at La Crescenta Elementary School. According to organizers, 100% of all donations are used for the show. Tickets are on sale for $5; kids under 2 are free. Gates open at 4 and close at 8:30 p.m.
