Meeting to discuss some changes

Changes for the Crescenta Valley Sun and the Glendale park ranger program are on the agenda for the Crescenta Valley Community Assn. meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Dunsmore Community Room at Dunsmore Park, 4700 Dunsmore Ave., La Crescenta.

Speakers include Dan Evans, director of editorial for the Glendale News-Press and its sister publications, who will talk about expanding the coverage of Crescenta Valley and Montrose in the Glendale newspaper.

Also, a representative from Glendale Parks, Recreation and Community Services is scheduled to explain the changes to the Glendale Park Ranger program.

Deadline is July 9 for Cruise Night entries

The deadline to register vehicles for Glendale’s 16th annual Cruise Night Car Show and Street Party is July 9.

The event, featuring headliners Sha Na Na, will be from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. July 18 along Brand Boulevard.

Four-hundred classic cars and trucks are expected to apply for this year’s car show, said city of Glendale spokesman Ritch Wells.

Entry forms must be submitted in advance because there will not be a “holding lot” for late entries, Wells said.

This year’s celebrity car judge will be entertainer Pat Boone.

Other entertainment planned is the Jan and Dean Show and the Four Preps. Master of ceremonies will be KRTH (101 FM) radio disc jockey Brian Beirne, Mr. Rock ‘n’ Roll.
