STUDENTS TALK BACK:

Share

The Glendale News-Press visited the Glendale High School ASB class Monday. The students took a pledge in class to remain drug-free for life. We asked: “Why is it necessary to take a ‘pledge’ to remain drug-free for life instead of just saying you’ll be drug free?”

“A pledge promotes a safe community. We don’t get involved in all the hassles and bad things that come with drugs.”

Hakop Oganasyan, 16

“We have goals. It’s better to write them down, because then it’s just a solid; it’s there.”

Kevin Chung, 15

“If you make a pledge, it’ll motivate you.”

Silvia Aparicio, 17

“With a pledge, you’re basically making a promise — a promise to yourself.”

Trish Ann Nubla, 16
