Boxing event set to be held in Glendale
Glendale boxing promoter Kahren Harutyunyan’s Art of Boxing Promotions, in association with Bash Boxing and others, will stage Glendale Glory 2 on Jan. 8 at the Glendale Civic Auditorium.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the event, which is headlined by an International Boxing Federation World Middleweight Title mandatory bout between Roman Karmazin and Dionisio Miranda and will also feature Glendale-based fighters Art Hovhannesyan and Gapo Tolmajyan.
First bell is at 6 p.m. and ESPN2’s Friday Night Fights will broadcast the card beginning at 7.

CV to hold Hall of Fame banquet
The second Crescenta Valley High School Athletic Hall of Fame banquet and ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 8 at the Los Angeles National Golf Club in Sunland.
An opening reception will be followed by dinner at 6:30 and the induction ceremony will begin at 7:30.
The nine former Falcons athletes and coaches being inducted into the hall are All-American water polo player and All-CIF swimmer Fred Axelgard, All-CIF basketball player and swimmer Tammy Breckenridge, Keith Gilliland, who coached the school’s cross-country and track teams for over three decades, All-American basketball player Harvey Mason, football and baseball standout Mike McCall, All-CIF soccer player Stephanie Rigamat, volleyball player and girls’ athletics pioneer Judy Thomsen, basketball standout Gordon Tope and CIF title-winning football Coach Gordon Warnock.

Jewel City-JWV Little League
The Jewel City-Jewish War Veterans Little League will conduct registration for the 2010 season.
Sign-ups will occur from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Jan. 9 at Brand Park.
Sign-ups and tryouts will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 16 and 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 23 at Brand Park.
Foothill League registration set
The Foothill Little League will have several registration dates pertaining to the upcoming season.
Registration is geared for those ages 5-14.
The next will run from 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 9 at Babe Herman Field.
Late registration and tryouts will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 16 at Babe Herman Field.
