CV Can Games announced

Crescenta Valley High will host the second annual CV CAN Games from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 1 at Crescenta Valley High’s Susan Osbourne Field located at 2900 Community Ave., La Crescenta.

The event will feature up to 150 Special Olympics athletes from the Tri-Valley Region of the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, Burbank and Glendale areas competing in various Olympic-style events, including walks, runs, relays and wheelchair races, as well as field events to include softball toss, long jump and shot put.

New additions to this year’s games are a bocce tournament and an “Olympic Village” area filled with fun and games for the athletes. There will be awards presentations throughout the day.
