GLENDALE — A Glendale man who was stabbed last week after a road-rage incident was recovering from his injuries at home Tuesday, police said.

The man was released Saturday from a local hospital after having sustained a stab wound that sliced his liver, Glendale Police Det. Keith Soboleski said.

“He is doing OK,” Soboleski said. “He is on bed rest.”

Also on Tuesday, detectives released additional details about the attack as they continue to seek the public’s help in identifying the suspects who fled from the scene on the 1000 block of Western Avenue after the attack on Thursday.

The road-rage incident began on the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway and Western Avenue when the victim was cut off by the suspect’s vehicle, police said.

Both vehicles exited on Western Avenue, and then stopped at a red light at the intersection with San Fernando Road, police said.

While waiting at the light, the victim and a woman, who was a passenger in the suspect vehicle, yelled profanity at each other, Soboleski said.

The light turned green and the suspect vehicle followed the victim along Western Avenue, before blocking the victim about 7:30 p.m. near his home.

That’s when the victim and the male suspect exited their cars and began yelling, police said.

The male suspect then grabbed a knife, stabbed the man and fled, Soboleski said.

The victim described the vehicle as an older, unkempt gold or tan El Camino with a blue California license plate. The license plate numbers and letters were yellow, and the cabin was littered with junk, Soboleski said.

Witnesses at the scene also described the car as silver or blue, Soboleski added.

The vehicle’s description varies because, he said, the sun was setting and that may have also been affected by street lights in the area.

The motorist was described as a slim white man, about 35 to 45 years old, blond medium-length hair, and 5 foot 10 inches to 6 foot 2 inches tall. He wore a light-colored shirt and blue jeans.

The passenger was described as a white woman, heavy set, 45 to 50 years old with blond shoulder-length hair.

The victim told police both spoke English and Armenian.

Anyone with details about the attack is urged to call Soboleski at (818) 548-3987 or Glendale Crime Stoppers at (818) 507-7867. To remain anonymous, call the Los Angeles Regional Crime Stoppers’ tip line at (800) 222-TIPS.
