Donald Edward Pugh
Donald Edward Pugh passed away suddenly in Ventura Ca on July 13th 2010 at the age of 81. Don was born in Chicago, IL in 1929. After High School he served in the Marines for 2 years. He went on to attend Wheaton College where he met and married Marilyn Jo Graham.
Don devoted his whole life to serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He received his Masters in Theology from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA. He served as Youth Pastor at Whittier Baptist Church and then College Ave. Church in San Diego. In the 70’s Don was employed by Gospel Light Press in Glendale, Ca where he developed Jr. High Sunday school curriculum. He served as an Associate Pastor with La Crescenta Baptist Church. He moved to Ventura in 1980 and was Senior Book Editor with Gospel Light.
In the 90’s he served as Associate Pastor at 1st Baptist Church in Oxnard.
After retiring, he and Marilyn attended Camarillo Community Church where Don was Pastor to seniors and enjoyed visitations.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn, earlier this year, and his son Robert in 1986. Don is survived by his children: Graham of La Crescenta, David of Chile, William and Dona Jo of Ventura, and Richard of Simi Valley; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 28th at 1pm at La Crescenta Baptist Church, 4441 La Crescenta Ave., La Crescenta, CA.
