Doris Gaer Boulware
Doris Gaer Boulware, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother died peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2010, at Windsor Manor in Glendale, CA. She was 103 years old.
Born on January 14, 1907, she was raised on a diary farm in Creighton, Nebraska. Mrs. Boulware was a school teacher and a prize-winning fiction writer. She had been a resident of Glendale since 1930 and a member of Glendale Presbyterian Church for over 70 years.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Strong, in 1943, her second husband, LeRoy Boulware, in 1963 and her son Richard Strong, in 2009.
Mrs. Boulware is survived by her daughter, Ludell Strong Western of Monrovia, CA; four granddaughters, Ellen Strong of Reno, NV, Karen Strong Hagler of Carlsbad, CA, Kristin Western Anderson of Altadena, CA and Elizabeth Western Hall of Westlake Village, CA; and seven great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, September 17th at 10:00 am at Glendale Presbyterian Church – Edmunds Chapel.
