Carol Ann Hoeschen

Carol Ann Hoeschen, loving wife, devoted mother and proud grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home in Los Osos, CA on September 6, 2010, with family at her side and in her heart.

Carol was born in Hollywood, California in July of 1944 to John Stanley and Edna Mae Murrin. She resided in Burbank, CA for 55 years, prior to moving to Los Osos in 1999. Carol was a stay at home mother to her four children and worked part time for Screen Graphics Co. in Burbank for 30 years. When Carol’s children were grown, she volunteered her time to St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank for 10 years. Carol also volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in North Hollywood for 15 years, visiting the sick and elderly of the parish.

Upon moving to Los Osos, CA in 1999, Carol continued her volunteering for the next nine years as a Eucharistic Minister at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, also visiting the sick and elderly.

She became a volunteer docent at the Spooner Ranch House in Montana de Oro State Park, where she served the public for five plus years.

Carol loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, working in her garden, and walking her neighborhood. She could often be seen walking her ten mile loop on the sand spit in Morro Bay State Park or walking to the Baywood Park farmers Mkt. Carol greeted everyone whose path she crossed with her warm smile and cheerfulness. She was considered by those who knew her well to be an “angel” on earth. Carol will be missed by all, forgotten by none.

Carol is survived, by her husband Larry, her daughter, Teri (Don) Stanley of Mammoth Lakes, CA, son Dan Hoeschen and granddaughters Bryn and Adyn of Los Osos, and sons Eric (Patricia) Hoeschen of Valley Village, CA, and Patrick (Lynda) Hoeschen of Sherman Oaks, CA., sisters Linda Murrin and Laura Bente of Burbank and Mary Giles of Vista, CA. She was preceded in death by her brother John Murrin.

A celebration of her life will be held at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery for family and friends. Arrangements are being made by Los Osos Valley Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Partners of the Central Coast or The Hearst Cancer Resource Center.
