Robert Perry Beechel
Robert Perry Beechel passed away August 15, 2010, in Newport News Virginia, at the age of 94. He was born February 23, 1916 in Prophetstown, Illinois. Robert graduated from Prophetstown High School Class of 1934 before coming to California. Robert began his 35 year career with Lockheed Aircraft and this is where he met his lovely bride, Edna. Robert and Edna had a wonderful marriage for 60 years. Robert’s career with Lockheed gave Robert and Edna the opportunity to live for a time in Japan which they both loved. Robert and Edna lived many years in Burbank California making lifelong friends from Florence Street where they raised their family. Living on Florence Street was a life gift in itself for the wonderful friends and memories they made living in Burbank. Robert is preceded in death by his beloved wife Edna and is now joined with her. Robert is survived by two children Bill Beechel and Christine Liffers, daughter in law Jeanne Beechel and son in law David Liffers, four grandchildren Nicholas Liffers and his wife Kelly, Eric Liffers, Laura Keyes and her husband Jason and Erin Beechel all who lovingly called him Grandpa, two great-grandchildren Brooke and Logan. Robert is also survived by his brother Darrell “Buck” Beechel who just reached his 100th birthday; and numerous family and friends. Burial was private at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills California. There was a celebration of Robert’s wonderful life at the home of Christine and David Liffers attended by many of the family and friends who loved and admired him for his well lived life. The family wishes that if you were at one time touched by Robert’s love, friendship, good humor and nature, you carry on his spirit in your heart and life.
