Motorcycle officer struck by motorist

A Glendale Police motorcycle officer suffered not life-threatening injuries Wednesday after being struck by a motorist at Glendale and Wilson avenues, officials said.

A motorist pulled out of the 76 gas station on the corner of Glendale and Wilson avenues just after 2 p.m. and struck Officer Joe Borbon, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.

Borbon struck the car, flew over the hood and landed on the ground, he said.

He was taken to a local hospital, where he was being treated, Lorenz said.

Police are investigating the collision.
