In brief: ANC organizes free legal clinic

The Glendale chapter of the Armenian National Committee has announced plans to host a free legal clinic on Wednesday. The clinic will provide advice on a number of issues, including landlord-tenant disputes, civil and small claims, immigration and family law.

Held in conjunction with the Armenian Bar Assn. and the Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County, the clinic will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Glendale Youth Center, 211 W. Chestnut St., Glendale.

Rainy weather to hang on

A chance of thunderstorms this morning was a taste of what forecasters predict through at least Wednesday.

There's a 70% chance of rain today, with that subsiding to 50% on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. Partly cloudy skies are then forecast for the rest of the week, with highs hovering in the mid 60s to lower 70s.

With persistent wet weather heralding the winter season, officials are scheduled to give La Cañada Flintridge residents a rundown tonight of how they can prepare their homes for rain runoff and possible mudflows later this year. They're slated to make their presentation at the City Council meeting there.
