Deanne Frost Swenson
Deanne Frost Swenson passed away following a short illness Saturday October 16th in her La Crescenta, California home. Deanne was born July 13, 1940 to John and Vera Frost in Spanish Fork, Utah. She graduated from Spanish Fork High School and held positions in a number of banks prior to becoming a homemaker and full-time mother and grandmother.
Deanne’s two loves were her family and her church. She met her husband, David, of 44 years while in high-school; where they both were class valedictorians. Three years after high school graduation they married and had a daughter Michelle, followed by a son, Stephen, and a second daughter, Sandra. Deanne instilled a sense of family responsibility and the need for education in her children, all of whom went on to graduate from college. In recent years she was most proud of her grandchildren. She enjoyed her many roles in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, never wanting to be in the limelight but serving dutifully in the background. In addition, she was actively involved in all her children’s and grandchildren’s activities including sports and Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Her orange cat Boots was her faithful companion and she adored him. Her happiest times were when she could be surrounded by her entire family. She will be missed by many.
She is survived by her daughters Michelle (Steven) Barton of Modesto, California and Sandra (Mike) Tucker of Valencia, California; her son Stephen (Cindy) Swenson of Arcadia, California; and her grandchildren, Jessica, Michael, Katie and Cameron. She was preceded in death by her husband, David H. Swenson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4550 Raymond Avenue, La Crescenta, California. Internment following service at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills.
