Gift-wrapping event at the Galleria

The California Highway Patrol. K-EARTH FM and local Honda dealers will offer free gift-wrapping to shoppers at the Glendale Galleria who make toy donations to the ChiPs for Kids program for low-income families. The event takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Switching to reusable bags

The environmental group Heal the Bay hosts the fourth annual “Day Without a Bag” event on Thursday, and will give out 25,000 reusable shopping bags at various locations, including Subaru of Glendale, 1308 S. Brand Blvd.

Winter decorating program launched

The city of Glendale and the Committee for a Clean & Beautiful Glendale have launched the annual Winter Holiday Decorating Program, recognizing residents and businesses for outstanding outdoor holiday displays.

Macy’s, letters and Santa collide

Macy’s stores, including the store in the Glendale Galleria, are providing a direct line to Santa Claus. Through Dec. 24, people of all ages are invited to drop off letters to Santa at Macy’s. The company will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for every letter received.
